Former Mayor John Walton, Elkton City Council and Fire Chief Larry Threlkel honored Jim Weathers and Mac Harper for 30 years of service on the Volunteer Fire Department.  Each were presented with a plaque expressing the City's deepest gratitude for their service to not only the Department, but to the citizens of Elkton and the surrounding area.

Also present was Elkton Postmaster Tom Tuggle, who presented Chief Threlkel with a large replica of the new "Heroes of 2001" stamp.  He also presented each fireman with a replica lapel pin.  Proceeds from the stamp go to benefit the families of relief workers killed in the September 11th attacks.
