The Elkton City Council met in special session on Monday, February 20, 2006 with Mayor John E. Walton presiding. Mayor Walton called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM.

City Council members present: Nancy Camp, David Powell, Danny Laster, Greg Allen, Eugene Jefferson and Brad Shemwell.

Others present: City Clerk/Treasurer Laura Brock, Martin Jones of the Todd County Industrial Foundation, Jason Vincent with Pennyrile Area Development District and Ryan Craig with The Todd County Standard.

1.  Economic Development Project
2.  Executive Session (Pursuant to KRS 61.810(1)(b) – Deliberation on Possible Future Acquisition of Property)

Mayor Walton informed the Council the purpose of the special meeting was to discuss an Economic Development Project. After brief discussion, Mr. Jefferson motioned to go into executive session under KRS 61.810(1)(b). Motion seconded by Mr. Powell and carried unanimously. Ryan Craig left the meeting at this time and the doors were closed to the public.

Upon returning from executive session the doors were opened to the public and Mr. Craig returned to the meeting. As a result of discussion in executive session, Mrs. Camp motioned to adopt Resolution 2006-05, "RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ELKTON, KENTUCKY AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A 2006 KENTUCKY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION." Motion seconded by Mr. Powell and carried unanimously.

Mr. Jefferson motioned to adjourn and seconded by Mr. Powell. Motion carried unanimously and meeting adjourned at 5:25 PM.
