2009 Calendar of Events - Year in Review

The following are events held in Elkton in 2009 thanks to the generous contributions
of the sponsors below.  Please be sure to thank and support our sponsors whose contributions to the
Elkton Events Committee allowed us to hold these FREE events in Elkton.

In 2010, the Elkton Community Alliance will take over planning events in Elkton.  Please become a member of the Alliance and support these events that are held free to the public!  CLICK HERE for more information.

  • Elkton Bike Night every Thursday night from May 21st to October 2nd.  That’s 20 nights of entertainment in downtown Elkton this year, including nine concerts featuring music ranging from Cherokee recording artist Michael Jacobs to Christian Rapper Big Beau to Cincinnati based classic rock band “Midnight Special” to Christian Rock group "Redeemed" and more.  Appleton Harley-Davidson/Buell, JPM Performance Powersports and Honda of Hopkinsville were also very supportive in promoting and assisting with Bike Night. On any given Bike Night, we had visitors from all over Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana and more.
  • First annual Elkton Bike Night Poker Run.  This event helped raise money to support more Elkton events.  A portion of the proceeds were also donated to Trace Industries in Elkton.
  • Independence Day celebration.  Elkton Events provided free music entertainment and inflatable bouncers for this event.  Knuckles Insurance and Heritage Bank once again sponsored the free fireworks display.
  • HarvestFest with free “Gospel Music on the Square” held on Friday, October 3rd.  Many locals gathered on Public Square for a free gospel music concert.
  • HarvestFest continued on Saturday, October 4th with various arts and crafts booths, food vendors, children’s area, talent contest and live music on the Square.
  • Christmas in Elkton on Friday, December 4th with free horse drawn carriage rides, free pictures with Santa provided by Fire Chief Darrin Cole, refreshments and children's activities.
