February 19, 2010 - Notice - The Public
Square Free Wi-Fi Internet HotSpot was struck by lighting. New
parts have been ordered and we hope to have it back up and working in the
next few weeks.

February, 10, 2010 - Notice of Public Meeting
- Under the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 (Public Law
88-578), citizens are afforded the opportunity to express their views
concerning the recreational needs of their community. To provide a
forum for discussion, an open meeting is being held on Tuesday, February 23,
2010 at 5:30 PM at Elkton City Hall, 71 Public Square, Elkton, Kentucky
sponsored by the City of Elkton.
The specific purpose of this meeting is to
discuss proposed improvements in the Elkton-Todd County Park located at 421
South Main Street in Elkton, Kentucky. If you can not attend the meeting,
but would like to make comments or suggestions, please call Elkton City Hall
at 270-265-9877; send by email to
cityhall@elktonky.com; or by mail to Elkton City Hall, Attn: Park
Improvement Project, PO Box 578, Elkton, KY 42220.
Anyone with a significant supporting or opposing view is
invited to voice that opinion at this meeting or in writing to: Land and

November 3, 2009 - Free Wi-Fi Internet HotSpot
now available on Public Square in downtown Elkton. Come visit one of
our downtown restaurants and enjoy free wireless internet.

October 12, 2009 - The Elkton City Council
voted to install a FREE Wi-Fi Internet HotSpot on Public
Square. The signal should reach approximately 600-1,000 feet in each
direction of Public Square. Visit one of our downtown businesses and
use the free internet connection! The connection is expected to be
installed the week of November 2nd.

June 3, 2009 - The regular city council
meeting scheduled for Monday, June 8th has been cancelled. There will
be a special council meeting on Monday, June 15th at 7 PM at Elkton City
Hall, 71 Public Square.

May 29, 2009 - There will be a special city
council meeting on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 5 PM at Elkton City Hall, 71
Public Square.

February 18, 2009 - The
City of Elkton and Todd County Community Education are partnering together
to write a grant to install new sidewalks on Sunset Drive and South Streets
Avenue. This grant will be through the “Safe Routes to Schools” program and
would be funded 100% through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The
proposed project would install four foot wide sidewalks in the south
right-of-way of Sunset Drive and the west right-of-way of South Streets
Avenue. The Elkton City
Council wants to inform you of this project and give you the opportunity to
comment on the proposed project. The City will hold a Public Hearing on
Tuesday, February 24th at 5 PM at Elkton City Hall, 71 Public
Square. If you can not attend the Public Hearing, you can comment in
writing to Elkton City Hall, PO Box 578, Elkton, KY 42220, by email at
cityhall@elktonky.com or by calling City Hall at 265-9877. Please feel

September 18, 2008
- Governor Steve Beshear will be visiting Elkton and Todd County on
Wednesday, October 8th. Governor Beshear will be in Elkton at
approximately 9:00 AM at the Old Todd County Courthouse. After
visiting with attendees and giving a few remarks, Governor Beshear will be
given a walking tour of Elkton to view past projects that have benefited
downtown Elkton, as well as future planned projects. Following his
Elkton visit, Governor Beshear will visit Guthrie and Logan-Todd Regional
Water Plant.

September 16,
2008 - Governor Steve Beshear announced today
that the City has been awarded a $196,000 Transportation Enhancement Grant
to install new sidewalks, curb and gutter and improve drainage on South
Streets Avenue.
