Annual Leaf Pickup

Annual Leaf Pickup

Annual leaf pickup for Elkton residents has begun.  Place your leaves close to the street without putting in drainage ditches or obstructing the sidewalks.  They will be picked up as soon as possible.  The leaf pickup will end some time on December.
Veterans Day Service

Veterans Day Service

The Todd County Military Affairs Committee and the Todd County Central PTO are sponsoring a Veterans Day Service on Friday, November 11, 2011.  

The service will start at 8:00 am with a continental breakfast for all Todd County veterans plus one guest.  Please RSVP to Becky or Ramona at Todd Central High School by calling 265-2506.  

At 9:00 am, everyone is invited to attend the Veterans Day Service at the high school. 
Homeland Security Grant

Homeland Security Grant

The City of Elkton has been awarded State Homeland Security Program Competitive Local Grant funding in the amount of $25,000.00.  The funds will be used to purchase new turnout gear and SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) devices for the Elkton Fire Department.

Historic Todd County Christmas Ornaments


Historic Todd County Christmas Ornaments featuring historic sites around Todd County are available for only $15.00 each.  Proceeds from the ornaments benefit the Historic Todd County Courthouse and Welcome Center in Elkton.    

You can purchase the ornaments online below!  Ornaments cost $15.00 each and display boxes are $3.00 each.  Shipping charge is $4.00 for the first two items and an additional $2.00 for every two additional items.  
 
The ornaments are available for purchase at the following locations on Public Square in Elkton: Something Special, Elkton City Hall, and the Historic Courthouse Welcome Center.

City-County Park Grant

City-County Park Grant

Update: October 25, 2011 - As a part of the LWCF Grant project, the City of Elkton has awarded a competitively bid construction contract to Circle C Construction to completely renovate the concession and restroom building at the City-County Park.  Renovations will begin in November and are expected to be completed by February 2012.


May 4, 2011 - The City of Elkton and Todd County governments partnered with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for a "Day of Service" project titled "Pitching in for a Better Park" to make improvements to the City-County Park using volunteer labor.  See videos, pictures and read about the event here.


Monday, July 26, 2010 -  Governor Steve Beshear announced that the Elkton-Todd County Park was awarded a $65,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant for improvements to the Park. The grant requires the Elkton-Todd County Park to match the grant with an additional $65,000 in cash or in-kind labor and goods for a total project of $130,000.

Improvements that will be made in the park include complete remodeling of the restroom facilities, renovation or replacement of two pavilions, skate park ramp repairs, fence repairs, dugout roof repairs, play equipment repaired or replaced, and installation of ADA accessible play equipment.
